Yes, a somewhat intriguing title for those of you who aren’t aware of what the Vagina Monologues are.
This past weekend, I went to V-Warrior‘s production of The Vagina Monologues. Which (if you don’t know) is a play that hopes to bring awareness to gender inequality, violence against women, and so on. Ten or so girls performed a monologue on stage; topics varied in seriousness and hilarity.
My favorite monologue was “The Coochi Snorcher”. You can look up this performance for yourself on Youtube, as I feel the name is slightly self-explanatory of its nature.
Though I’m often frugal, the $5 I paid to attend went to a Springfield domestic violence center, and I felt extremely good about that. For the past two years, I’ve been absent from Drury’s campus when the VM take place (due to swim meets or spring break), so I was absolutely thrilled when I was able to attend.
This organization is one of the best Drury has to offer, as it strives to bring awareness to important issues in and around our community.
